But then reality set in...
I might not come off as such, but the truth is, I'm insanely shy. I'm not comfortable in front of a camera of any sort. I'm not a performer. As much as I'd love to be in a video of theirs, it wasn't going down. I did one "practice" video, and I ended up laughing at myself so hysterically that I choked. The real problem was that I had already promised Mullage a video. I happened to be one of the first people to @ reply them and say I was doing it, and they did not let me forget it. I had to redeem myself.
I did what any sane, well-rounded human being would do in my situation. I tattooed "@mullage" on my wrist. Guess what? It got me noticed. And I think I've been forgiven, as far as the video goes.
Amazingly enough, my only concern was that it would be too much. There's a very thin line between "dedicated fan" and "restraining order". Of course, the title I'm going for is "#1 fan". I'm not quite sure I'm there yet, but it's a step in the right direction. And thankfully, I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from them.
Some might call it crazy, I just call it commitment.
